Wastewater treatment station in Tenneco Automotive Eastern Europe, Poland
Tenneco Automotive started production of shock absorbers in the manufacturing facility located in Poland (Gliwice). Tenneco is one of the leading manufacturers of shock absorbers for various important car producers.
As a side-effect of shock absorber production process certain amount of wastewater is created particularly during cleaning, hard chromium electroplating of piston rods and E-coating processes.
EKOL Ltd. company delivered wastewater treatment station for treatment of all kinds of wastewater from above mentioned surface finishing technologies. The treated wastewater is partly recycled as technological water and partly discharged to municipal sewage of town Gliwice.
Wastewater with content of Chromium(VI) is reduced by reduction agent to Chromium(III) in separate block. Wastewater with content of Chromium(III) is than treated together with other type of wastewater in the rest of continuous wastewater treatment station based on deemulgation and precipitation principle.
The sludge is separated in continuous clarifier and dewatered in filter press. Separated water is filtered by sand filter with continuous washing of sand bad. Water after filtration is used either as technological water for different purposes or it is discharged to municipal sewage.
Wastewater is accumulated in separate buffer tanks. Wastewater is than pumped from buffer tanks to the reactors for treatment.
Part of wastewater treatment station are preparation and dosing units for all necessary chemicals.
