EKOL won the tender and supplied a electroplating line for alkaline zinc electroplating, which is one of the largest zinc electroplating lines in the Czech Republic due to the size of the hanging window and capacity. The subsequent surface treatment of the electroplated zinc is possible by two different passivation’s and final sealing in the varnish. This line replaces a pair of original zinc electroplating lines. The delivery of the electroplating line was all the more difficult because it was realized during the full operation of the electroplating plant.

The parts are hung at three workplaces. After hanging, the operator reads the item code and enters the number of parts. The control system assigns the appropriate technological procedure to these components and calculates the necessary currents for electrolytic degreasing and zinc eletroplating. Automatic transport is realized by four manipulators and two transverse crossings.

The line is equipped with storage stands, which are used mainly during the run-up and start of the line, as well as during line maintenance. The storage stands accommodate all cathode rods present in the electroplating line. The line is equipped with automatic dosing of chemicals. Both heating water from the investor's boiler room and electric heating elements are used for heating baths. DC rectifiers are located in the pressurized engine room in the immediate vicinity of the line, which allows a minimum length of cables and at the same time 100% protection of the power supply electronics from corrosive environment.

With each cathode rod, all operating data as well as possible fault conditions are automatically recorded in order to be able to retrospectively check the technological process.
